| Bio: | Here is the skinny on me: Age: old enough to know better, but still too young to care! Location: Eastern TN (about 1 hour from the Smokies and/or Knoxville, TN) Education: I have a BS degree in family & consumer sciences education, a MS in instructional technology and educational services (area of focus: curriculum), and about 1/3 of my PhD in literary studies (my dissertation will focus on adolescent literature and studies). I love research and am in the process of authoring a text on classroom management for middle and high school educators. I am also presently a nursing student. No...I do not have a big hole in my head (really!) I have taught middle and high school over the years and became jaded by the "good ole boy" network and the crooked politics that play such a huge role in our public school systems that I have turned by back on public education in favor of a new career - nursing. Funny thing is, the head of the nursing department at the college where I am taking classes at thinks I would be well suited to a nurse educator position upon graduation. Lol! So, the goal now is to graduate, nurse in the field for a couple of years, and then take a position as a college nursing faculty member. Professorship - here I come! Miscellaneous Info: I am a left-leaning moderate who keeps up with what is going on in this country because it is my duty as a citizen. I detest rudeness, people who lack personal responsibility, arrogance, selfishness, stupidity, people that make excuses, and people who just refuse to accept the differences in all of us with respect. I like open-mindedness, wit, politeness, laughter, acceptance, responsible and reliable people, sexy shyness, and a man that knows how to treat a woman like a lady (Hey fellas: pull those chairs back, hold those doors open, and help a lady with her coat on for crying out loud! Were you raised in a barn?!). I weep for the loss of chivalry in our society. I am joined at the hip to ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} epijunkie and we have one wonderful dog named Chloe (age 5). We recently lost our long-time and very loved family pet, Buddy. We miss him so much our hearts ache. In my spare time (which is becoming quite scarce), I like to read, write, and watch old sitcoms on TVLand. My favorite hobby is collecting designer handbags. My collection is quite extensive and includes bags made by Beijo, Burberry, Coach, Dooney & Bourke, Fendi, Kenneth Cole, Louis Vuitton, Prada and Vera Bradley. Those who know me IRL know that I have NO patience for the idiocy and incompetence exhibited by our present Chief Chimp in Charge. My life philosophy: "Live. Laugh. Love.
